Style Statement: 3 Ways with a Nordic Sheepskin Rug

The Nordic look is incredibly popular at the moment, and whilst it’s a look that works well in the Winter, it can be adapted to work brilliantly well in the Spring too. I’ve been showcasing my love of the Nordic or Scandi look over on the new eBay Collections through my Scandi Chic board and it’s been really well received. One of the key components of this look has to be the Sheepskin Rug. Used in a variety of ways, it really does epitmise everythign that the Nordic look is; texture, purity, pale hues.

Don’t think of a Sheepskin rug as simply adornment for your floors. There are many ways to enjoy the comfort of sheepskin including on a cool, leather sofa and on a dining chair. Both of these looks have become really popular in recent years, and rightly so. They offer a different slant to traditional decor, and I’m always a fan of being creative with home accessories. Adding a soft sheepskin onto a leather sofa like mine, adds a warmth necessary with leather, particularly on a cool evening. My girls were enthralled to see the rug there when they came in from school! Adding sheepskin rugs to simple, modern dining chairs is very on trend, and a great way to add something new to your dining table decor. I’ve also showcased the rug in the hallway, mainly so you can see the contrast between the wood and the sheepskin, and also the full length of the rug.

The rug you see in the pictures above is from the Rug Retailer, a rug seller for over 17 years based from Cheshire. This one you see is a double Wolf-tipped sheepskin that retails for £110, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. I will actually use it in my bedroom, next to the bed, and on many occasion I’ve found a child curled up on it, enjoying it’s softness. I can see why babies love to sleep on a sheepskin.

The Rug Retailer has a great selection, and I was pretty spoiled for choice, even in the sheepskin range. Choose from other ranges such as Modern, Traditional, Skins and Designer to name but a few. With such a range, and good value prices you’ll be browsing for a while.

I was gifted the sheepskin rug, but all ideas and comments are my own.
